| Ha Mashiach Mediated Covenant The establishment of the Christ mediated covenant between God and the promised children of Abraham was the beginning of the fulfillment of the spiritual covenant promises made to Abraham. Just as Abraham's son Isaac was a son of promise through sex with the free post menopausal woman, Sarah, and Ishmael was Abraham's son by natural physical laws of sex through the bondwoman, Hagar, Christians are Abraham's sons who will receive the spiritual birthright blessings through the promises made in the Christ mediated covenant, which is the free woman Sarah and Jerusalem above, the mother of all Christians, and the physical children of Israel are Abraham's sons who received the physical birthright blessings through the promises made in the Moses mediated covenant which is the bondwoman Hagar and the Jerusalem of today. Therefore Christians are not bound to obey God by the old covenant of works but set at liberty to obey God by the new covenant of faith! Galatians 4:22-31 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. 23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. 24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. 25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. 26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. 27 For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband. 28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. 29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. 30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman. 31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free. The Mashiach mediated covenant and the Mosheh mediated covenant overlap time wise by about 3,000 years. The Moses mediated covenant is fading away but the Christ mediated covenant will last forever. Hebrews 8:13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away. The Christ mediated covenant connects Gentiles and Jews to the spiritual birthright blessings promised to Abraham and his heirs. Unlike the Moses mediated covenant, the Christ mediated covenant does not establish any fallible humans as judges sitting on a seat of authority equivalent to Moses' seat or any priestly authority serving as an intermediary between a Christian and God. Jesus Christ is each Christian's Judge and High Priest, not fallible Moses and Aaron and their successors nor the fallible Apostles and their successors. Galatians 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. Romans 14:4, 10 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. 10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. Hebrews 4:15-16 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Moses fallible- Matthew 19:8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. Moses' fallible successors- Matthew 15:6 ...Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. 9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. Apostles fallible- Galatians 2:14 But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews? Philippians 2:12-13 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Requirements Humans- Repentance from disobedience to, and lack of faith in, God which brings God's forgiveness. Demonstrate, by baptism, the death of the old way of life and the resurrection to God's way of life, faith in the efficacy of Christ's death to pay the penalty for sin and faith in God's promised gift of eternal life. Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. God- God sets up the ha Mashiach mediated covenant and offers it to all humans. Acts 2:22-24, 33, 39 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: 23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: 24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it. 33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. Promises Christian To maintain righteousness through walking in faith, a commitment to conform to the image of Jesus Christ, our judge, and to make use of His office as High Priest to have all future sins forgiven. Matthew 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. Romans 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. Romans 8:29-30 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. God The gift of eternal life Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Rewards for works Matthew 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. Pleasures Forevermore Psalm 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. |
