Righteousness of God- As applied to humans it is based on the faith of Abraham and Christ and not the dead works that the Scribes and Pharisees and others demanded of their followers. A measure of one's legal standing in reference to one's obedience to the law of God. It is achieved for humans only by faith in the way God has chosen to justify humans. Achieved under the Old Covenant by faith in the efficacy of obedience to the laws of God, Moses and those sitting in Moses' seat. Achieved under the New Covenant by faith in the efficacy of the faith of Christ to justify one's past, present and future sins after repentance, baptism, the gift of the Holy Spirit and an eternal commitment to walking in faith. Sin- Choosing to not submit in thought, word and/or action to God's law or even what one believes to be God's law. Sin starts in the heart and can be stopped at any point before the harmful action. Any thought, word or action that does not cause significant physical harm to another human is not a sin. Covenant- A legal statement agreed to by one or more individuals and/or groups. Moses Mediated Covenant- A verbal and written agreement between God and all the generations of the children of Israel and also the strangers who might choose to join themselves to Israel. It was made available at Mount Sinai and entered into by the attending generation who agreed to it as a group and was then confirmed with the sprinkling of sacrificial bull blood on the alter and on a few of the people, by Moses. This covenant required obedience to the oral and written laws of God and also the mediator Moses and his successors, such as the Scribes and Pharisees, as long as those laws conformed with the intent of the law given by God. All twelve tribes of Israel were to become priests to the gentiles. Faithfulness to the covenant brought many physical blessings. Eternal life however was not offered. This covenant will continue to be available to any human as long as there are physical humans on earth. Christ Mediated Covenant- A verbal agreement, between God and individual humans, promising an eternal life of pleasure with God. It was made available after the resurrection of Christ. Any human, after repentance from dead works and disobedience, may enter in to it by baptism. God then confirms the deal by the gift of the Holy Spirit. The fruits of the Holy Spirit demonstrate its' presence in the Christian. Each year the sacrifice required by the Mashiach mediated Covenant is remembered at the Creator God's Passover ceremony. One then begins an eternal walk of faith with God. Christ, not man, is our High Priest and Judge. Sin is any thought, word or action that is not consistent with the way of God written on our hearts or that we believe to not be consistent. All laws in the Moses mediated covenant that are judged, by each Christian, to not be consistent with the way of God, are null and void for that Christian. Each Christian must make that judgement and then be prepared to defend it before the judgement seat of Christ. God Mediated Marriage Covenant- An agreement between God, a man and a woman authorizing the man and woman to become one flesh through the creation of a new human being. Repentance- admission of being guilty of sin, requesting forgiveness and turning from the way of dead works leading to death and turning to the way of righteous faith leading to life. Baptism- A demonstration of faith in; the atonement available through the death of Christ; the present putting to death of the old way of life and rebirth to a new way of life; the hope of changing this physical mortal body into an eternal spirit body at or after the return of Christ. Forgiveness- The agreement by an offended being to restore the relationship and/or release the debt determined by a just judgment of the offense. Forgiveness Through Christ- The restoration of a good relationship with God, achieved through repentance and the atoning sacrifice of Christ, and confirmed by the gift of the Holy Spirit.
